In the end of 2015, Yelena Isinbaeva Charity Foundation and Coca-Cola Company launched a joint project aimed at sports grounds construction for orphanages in 6 Russian cities: Volzhsky, Volgograd region; VerkhnyTagil, Sverdlovsk region; Novocherkassk, Rostov region; Pskov; Moscow; and also Vyritza township, Leningrad (Saint-Petersburg) region.

It was decided to create an individual approach for ground project development according to the special needs of each center. Therefore, Volzhsky orphanage center now has outdoor sports ground with a special gymnastic set; and Saint-Petersburg orphanage center now obtains a sports ground for the youngest fosters.

Novocherkassk orphanage officially welcomed a new sports ground last weekend. This orphanage is a home to children with muscle-skeleton disorders. The sports ground is covered with a thick soft material, it also features handball gates and basketball units.

The orphanage pupils prepared a short performance for the guests, and after that they played boccia with Yelena Isinbaeva, told their personal stories and listened to famous Olympic and Paralympic sportsmen stories from Yelena Isinbaeva.

“This sports ground will never be empty, I know that these children will work out here, progress and become more confident”, said Yelena Isinbaeva, the President of the Charity Foundation, in her welcoming speech.

The sports ground has been constructed within the frames of “Christmas Caravan” project and “Every child is worth a pedestal” charity program.
