Rotari Club and Yelena Isinbaeva Charity foundation opened an sports ground for disabled people
On the 7th of September Yelena Isinbaeva Charity foundation together with Rotari Volgograd Club (2220 district) opened a sports ground adapted for disabled people which can be used for doing gymnastics and preparation for GTO standards.
Similar grounds are being built in many Russian cities, where open trainings and work shops are successfully held.
According to Yelena Isinbaeva. President of Charity foundation: “The aim of development of this project is to inspire people to go out, to start doing sport exercises and to gather people together for socializing and training together on the sports ground. “ Physical training and exercises on sports equipment are very good for the health of disabled people and such sports ground which is available for everyone should solve this problem.
The surface of the sports ground is 300 m2. It includes parallel bars of different height, bars, monkey ladders, wall bars and an abdominal crunch bar. A convenient access adapted for peoples on wheelchair is provided for each apparatus. A special flooring is laid on the sports ground and it provides a comfortable stay on the sports ground. 35 people, including 10 people on wheelchair can do exercises on the sports ground at the same time.
At the official opening of the sports ground athletes of Workout34 movement from Titans team did an exhibition performance.
For implementation of the project its organizers involved private charity donations and held a unique performance called “Story of one success” with Volgograd celebrities.
The sports ground is located on the territory of Municipal budget institution of culture “Children city park” next to the Youth Theatre.
