ROSTOV TEAM AT ‘EVERY CHILD IS WORTH STANDING ON PODIUM’ FESTIVAL
150students from specialeducational institutions participated in sport and cultural competitions in the context of preliminary competitions of ‘Every child is worth standing on podium’ festival.
At the official opening ceremony which took place in a Sports school №13 Svetlana Gadarova, Physical culture and sport vice-minister of the Rostov-on-Don region, Irina Bomshtein, representative of Ministry of General and Professional education of the Rostov-on-Don region and Denys Braslavskiy, Head of Physical culture and Sport Administration of Rostov-on-Don wished the children bright victories, self-confidence and fair games. Inna Goleva, Yenela Isinvayeva’s sister, also made her welcoming speech. Yelena Isinbaevva herself could not assist to the ceremony but she sent a welcoming video where she wished to all the participants the best of luck.
The children showed themselves as very talented personalities by participating in creative contests. They also achieved three records: among female athletes of 11-12 years of age – 203 cm in long jump, among make athletes 9-10 years of age – 22 cm in suppling exercises and 6,5 seconds in shuttle run. At the awarding ceremony the best results in individual and team classification were awarded. Two teams with the best scores from Kamensk-Shakhtinsk boarding-school and from Rostov sanatory boarding-school №28 will represent their region at the finals in May 2018 where they will be wearing T-shirts with a unique printing from Sophia Afanasieva (Rostov sanatory boarding-school №28).
