YELENA ISINBAEVA AT THE “POWER OF THE WINNERS” FILM PREMIERE IN MOSCOW
“Power of the winners” film premiere took place in the Pioneer cinema in Moscow on 2 December. The film was made with the support of Yelena Isinbaeva, two-time Olympic champion and CSKA athlete, and within the frames of “We believe in you” project. The film united 100 children with health limitations – foster pupils of the remedial schools and social-rehabilitation centers of the Volgograd region. Roman Petushkov, six-time biathlon and ski sport Paralympic champion, Olga Brusnikina, three-time synchronized swimming Olympic champion, and Sergey Shubenkov, world champion in 110 m barrier run – these people have achieved great success and overcome many difficulties on their way.
“I have established a charity foundation and invited you to tell us about the project, which has been launched with the support of received grant. This project is called “We believe in you”. It is made for children with health disorders. We want to create comfortable atmosphere for their social adjustment, to help them develop self-belief. Every person has a goal in his life. If you find yourself in this kind of circumstances, we are here to support you and show this film, which can prove that everything is possible for you”, said Yelena Isinbaeva.
“The main heroes are outstanding people. They will tell you how they managed to overcome their fears, pain and pushed beyond their limits. We want you to understand that nothing is impossible. The project will be held for 5 months. Children will work together with teachers. They will read poetry, learn how to dance and create music… They can choose themselves what to focus on”.
Among the spectators at the film premiere were junior army members, Dmitrievsky and Filimonovsky orphanages’ fosters. Several pupils from Dmitrievsky orphanage school can boast great sport results, among them: VoktoriyaLvova, two-time world champion in junior wheelchair tennis, Alexey Sheparenkov and PavelTrofimov, Russian champions in mountain skiing slalom.
Final event, which is called “Achievements Festival”, is going to take place in May 2017 and will sum up the results of each participant project. Until that, during 5 months they will work under a special method with social teachers and psychologists and define their life goals and steps to fulfill them.
“We believe in you” project is implemented within the frames of grants competition, run by the public organization “Union of Russian Women” in accordance with the Russian federation President order No. 68-RP of 5 April 2016.
